Khurram Amir has captured the soul of Andrew Wyeth with his youthful interpretation of " Faraway". Simply an extraordinary tribute to a great American artist. Wyeth's magical influence clearly captivated a talented young mind for the world to witness.
I feel honored and humbled by the opportunity to scribble Ekphrastic poetry to his brilliant Wyeth rendition of "Faraway".
Please take the time to read his inspiration, view his virtual gallery, and of course " Follow" his work.

" I lived in a Very Small Indian Town and had very limited resources then.
There were no libraries, or internet in those days. Exposure to artists and paintings was very limited.
Occasionally, I viewed paintings featured in Reader's Digest from my Uncle's collection. There were articles featured about artist and thier paintings. As a young boy I was fascinated by them and tore away one the pages from the magazines. The painting were so interesting that I decided to copy it in pencil, which I felt I was good at. It was a "Faraway" by Andrew Wyeth. It became my first Wyeth influenced sketch.
Eventually, I found other prints of Andrew's paintings and tried my hand at them also. At that time, I was not aware of the artist true fane, but his art captivated my young mind.
Little did I know that he would become my favorite artist. I was in awe of Andrew Wyeth's work~ he has deeply moved and impacted me to this day.
I feel I know him, just by looking and appreciating his paintings. His work is an impression that can only be described as "Magical." - Khurram Amir
