`Girl before a Mirror 1914`

~  Writer`s Notes ~

After viewing this painting on a recent trip to New York City's Museum of Modern Art. (MoMA).

I was inspired to write my ekaphrastic views for the impressions I felt in the moment. Through my lens, I saw a mask-like feature nude in front of a mirror soaking in to a negative  dreary flat figure. Suggesting a parable of vanity or elegance. I will let you choose.

~ Writer's Inspiration ~

"Art is forever manifesting itself in new forms, since there are forever new personalities - its essence can never alter, I believe. Perhaps I am wrong. But speaking for myself, I know that I have no program, only the unaccountable longing to grasp what I see and feel, and to find the purest means of expressing for it."
