'A Writers' Experiences '

Writers know that events we experience in our daily lives are the material for our assertions. Our words are the "event," not a record of the "event."

We express that experience in words after they have passed through our hearts. We must be devoid of artifice, but not of art.

With more words at our disposal, writers understand that a lack of brevity leads to failures of expression and perception. Every word choice, every word position are open to the most naked scrutiny.
