"Those Biscuits & Figs"

Even now, after all these years, I can still imagine those savory-sweet figs my Grandma stewed with affection.

Those delicious figs, the ambrosia of the South,  holding a unique place in those swampy bayous,

Those stewed figs nourished a delicately sweet syrupy nectar worthy of any Southern biscuit.

Those figs and biscuits my Grandma used to make were a Southerners' pleasance.

Yeah, those figs and biscuits are a Southerners' rite.
